Alex Gawthrop is a member in the Tax Department of Suttle & Stalnaker, PLLC. He has been with the firm since 2023, following a merger. Alex will be responsible for supervising staff assigned during the course of the engagement and executing the engagement plan.

Alex graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from Marshall University in 2010. He then received his MBA from Morehead State University in 2014.

Alex has over thirteen years of experience and provides a mixture of experience in accounting and attestation, tax, and financial and consulting services, to organizations and individuals. Alex specializes in providing services for not-for-profit entities and for-profit entities with emphasis on legal and healthcare professionals, manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers. He also is an Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor, possessing the skills to assist clients with their needs on the Intuit Software, QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online.

Alex is involved in the following professional organizations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants; Past-President; Member of the Huntington Young Professionals Committee of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce; Co Vice-Chair of the Tax Committee of the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

He is also involved in his community through the following organizations: President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State; Chairman of the Big Brother Big Sister Annual Christmas Tree Sale; Accounting Education Foundation, Past President; Treasurer of Fairland Little League; Board member of Fairland Buddy League Basketball; Alpha Tau Omega Theta Omicron Board of Trustees, Past Chairman.
